The government shut-sown is over! As a result, Operation Threshold’s WIC program is able to again issue three months of WIC checks to our participants. This is effective today, October 17, 2013. Checks for November and December will be mailed in November for those participants that were seen at our WIC clinics earlier this month. We would like to thank all of our participants for their patience and all of our employees and community partnersThank for all of their support and help during this time.
In addition, please keep in mind that SNAP (Food Stamp) benefits for families will reduce November 1st as the higher benefits that were part of the Stimulus expire. Families that have chosen not to participate in WIC because they felt that their needs were being met by SNAP may have more of a struggle. If this is so, please encourage them to sign up for WIC!!
